The news of a new iPhone has been inescapable, that is unless you’ve been playing it pretty frugally over the past 15 years and still have your Nokia 3310.
Plenty of opinions have been aired, criticised and praised, but you only need to know the hard facts to make up your own mind before it’s released on September 19th in the UK.

6. Different Design
After the slight changes made to the 5S, Apple has again changed the look of its iconic cellular series and has smoothed the edges to give much more of a pebble look to it.
It’s also skinnier – so skinny that the rear camera protrudes out of the case! The surface is smooth and looks like it would offer a satisfying grip.
5. The Screen Has Gone Phab
“Phablets” are soon to become all the rage. A combination of a phone and a tablet, these sometimes cumbersome devices had been laughed at before but now that Apple’s doing, it’s peculiarly become quite the genius move.
With a screen size of 4.7 inches, it’ll be a big step up on the iPhone 5 with the Plus version being close to what the Samsung Galaxy Note is known for in size.
4. iOS 8 Included
Whether you hate it or love it, there’s no surer way of knowing that your software is outdated than a new one being forced upon you.
After the updates made for iOS 7, Apple are reportedly looking to keep similar aesthetics but add all the little nuts and bolts that many users felt the handsets were missing. Android lovers may see quite a few similarities…
3. NFC
You may have heard about this as the “next big thing” for sometime but it does look like near field communications could soon be more common on the High Street.
With a simple swipe of your phone, you can pay your bill, use it as a key and many other potentially ground-breaking innovations. The iPhone 6 will be the first Apple device to have it and it could make the technology far more everyday.
2. Power
Nothing too amazing to report here. The iPhone 5 had a mid-range processor with its A7 processor and the iPhone 6 will benefit from the A8 version, presumably more powerful.
Details are murky on the technical capabilities but considering Apple didn’t make that big a deal of it in their press release, you may have to expect more of the same.
1. Price
Let’s just say that it won’t be cheap but that’s to be expected from Apple!
If you’re going SIM-free, it’s £539 for the 16GB iPhone 6, £619 for 64GB and a crazy £699 for the 128GB SIM-free model.
